Medieval Bronze & Silver Ring
Each Badger's Velvet bronze and silver ring is completely original.
This Sun burst pattern is etched into the bronze and the diameter is 1" (26mm)
The bronze 'button' is a found object, most likely medieval and a detector find. It is hard to date exactly but they are believed to have been made between the 15th and 18th century.
Each button is unique in design and style: While there are similarities, each piece was handmade and no two are exactly the same.
We bought these buttons from a dealer in antiquities.
The bronze button has its shank removed and is them set in to a silver bezel and mounted onto a silver band by Badger's Velvet Oxford jeweller.
With wear the bronze starts to show through and the patina will continually change as the ring ages. The blackness is due to ageing and lack of use.
